Working Principle

Deep groove ball bearings mainly bear radial loads, but can also bear both radial and axial loads. When it only bears radial loads, the contact angle is zero. When deep groove ball bearings have large radial clearance, they have the performance of angular contact bearings and can bear large axial loads. Deep groove ball bearings have small coefficient of friction and high limit rotating speed. There are two types of deep groove ball bearings, single row and double row. The type code for single row deep groove ball bearings is 6, and the code for double row deep groove ball bearings is 4.

Bearing Characteristics

When selecting a larger radial clearance, the axial loading capacity increases. Its contact angle is greater than zero when apply axial load. Generally, stamping wave shaped cages, solid cages made of vehicles, and sometimes nylon cages are used.

After installing a deep groove ball bearing on a shaft, it can limit the axial displacement in both directions of the shaft or housing within the axial clearance range of the bearing, so it can be positioned axially in both directions.
